Her mother and she moved to Los Angeles, California to pursue a career in acting after graduating high school in the year 2005. Her first acting role came in the romantic comedy Music and Lyrics starring Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore. She sang several songs on the soundtrack, in addition to playing the character. She signed with NuSound Record/550 Music in the year that followed and began work on her first album. In 2008, she played her first live performance in Los Angeles. Haley signed a deal for three films with Warner Brothers Pictures. In 2008, she appeared in College and The haunting Molly Hartley. She also played a minor part in Marley & Me. Bennett has also appeared in the short film Passage and Sleepwalking in the Rift as well as the feature films The Hole, Kaboom, Arcadia Lost, Deep Powder, Things People Do, and the TV movie Outlaw Country.
